Döner production 2.0
DEHOGA-Report
BAHA is building new facilities.
Veteran production facilities are now adapting more and more to market requirements.
The result has been a number of new, ultramodern facilities being built in compliance with EU guidelines for worldwide distribution of doner spits. BAHA, founded in the early 1990s by Hasan Babur, is one of the best-known players in the Berlin doner market. Many of the most popular kebab shops in Berlin are supplied by BAHA. The family-run business had been operating at full capacity at a production site in Falkensee for a long time, but the site only had limited potential for expansion. As the company passed down to the next generation, it was time to take a fresh look at things.
Das Ergebnis dieser Entwicklung lässt sich am Saatwinkler Damm in zentraler Lage beobachten.
The result of these developments can be seen in the company’s new prime location on Saatwinkler Damm: an impressive new building with a production area of over 2,000 m2 paired with an on-site administration office that provides space for over 60 employees and enables a production capacity of 70 tonnes per day.
Clearly, the doner industry is growing and will do its part in shaping the image of Berlin.
